The In-Line Strainer is a fairly coarse strainer used in pipe and operating either under suction or pressure. These strainers need to be removed from the pipe for cleaning. A very wide variety of these strainer are available, but the most common are the basket strainer and the Y type strainer.
The basket strainer consists of a plastic or metal removable basket in a jousting which is usually supplied with a quick opening convert.
The Y type strainer are typical and consist of a cylindrical strainer attached to an end plate. For off line cleaning, flow is from the inside outwards so that the solids are retained in the basket.
