Pressure Filter

Pressure Filter

Pressure Filters operates with a higher driving than vacuum filters so can achieve reasonable filtration rate with finer particles. The final moisture content can be lower in a pressure filter than in vacuum filter if the particle is fine and a compressible cake is formed.

They can also be used at temperature close to or even above the atmospheric boiling point of the liquid. Most pressure filter require batch discharge of the solids.

The feed slurry to pressure filter normally must pass through a high-pressure pump to feed the pressure filter. Some pressure filters are in the form of a pressure vessel so the materials of construction selection are important.
