Gas Scrubber is a unit operation in which one or more gaseous components of a gas are captured in a liquid or on a solid sorbent.
The absorption may be a purely physical phenomenon or may involve dissolution of the material in the liquid followed by a reaction with one or more constituents in the liquid solution.
For the solid sorbent, the mechanism involves an adsorption of the material on the solid followed by a reaction with one or more constituents in the sorbent.
