The outer part of the wheel consists of a peripheral channel formed by two inward-facing filtering elements of perforated stainless steel sheet.
The slurry pumped into to the channel is subjected to a driving force generated by the rotation of the wheel and is thereby concentrated and then extruded through the restricted outlet.
