Horizontal Belt Filters are the most commonly used vacuum filters in the industry due to their flexibility of operation, adaptation to corrosive slurries and suitability to handle large throughputs.
The Belt Filters have largely replaced tipping pan filters an table filters in application requiring efficient washing and large surface area.
The rubber belt filter consists of an endless rubber belt. This has a drainage surface and holes which allow filtrate to flow into a longitudinal vacuum box. The top of the box forms a moving seal with the bottom of the belt.
The box may be partitioned to separate the filtrates for countercurrent washing applications. This top feed configuration facilitated multi cake washing stages.
