Cyclones spray scrubber can be used as low energy Wet Scrubbers.
The simplest exemple of this is when a liquid spray is added at the inlet to or along the axis of a dry cyclone.
Dust removal is principally by the centrifugal action of the cyclone but is enhanced by impaction of the dust particles on the liquid droplets which, due to their larger size are more readily removed by cyclonic action.
